T. Costal Glass-Sea Glass "Ro-ming" Glass

OOoohh the Goddess just don't quit!!!  Now she has me-The Ogre "ro-ming" around policing up broken glass.  Most of this glass is found, cleaned, drilled, sanded, sawed, filed and delivered to you by ME-The Ogre.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS:
A Going GREEN project to offer a new and inexpensive product line and to help keep the earth a little cleaner and the landfills less full!

Please remember that your actual purchase will differ from referenced photos on this section.  The reclaimed coastal glass, beach glass and harvested glass is naturally etched by erosion, sand, wind, water and the effects of tide and Mother Nature.  Sea glass naturally achieves blemishes know s "C" chips.  “C” chips are little nicks and dings in the surface of the glass and is part of the charter and organic nature of recycled and reclaimed glass.  Not all finishes will be alike!  Lots of this glass has been recovered along the Gulf coast from Hurricanes and storms less than 4 years ago.  This product is mixed up with glass that has been in the ocean or gulf for many-many years.   Don't despair over small variations of your choices.  The funky and peculiar nature of this glass is what makes it fun and very wearable.  Drilled holes are not always going to line up perfectly-So What!!!  Again it is part of the fun of doing something different.  Fire Goddess will always provide for exchange at one of our physical appearances at a Bead and jewelry show near you.  Bring your product and your receipt).

(Much of the sheet glass or flat stain glass has been removed from doors, panels, murals and large stain glass structures that were torn down by storms, and then thrown back onto beaches, waterways and inlets.  Prior to our harvesting efforts Much glass found on the ground, beaches, and coast from storm, hurricanes and tornadoes is more often than not hauled away to a landfill.

 HOW DO WE DO THIS:
Lots of hard work-heat resistant diamond chip impregnated drill bits and band saws-lots of sweat, blood and tears.  But I do it cause I love you.
The surface of the glass is naturally textured or etched.  NO chemicals or machinery is used to create the finish.  IT is the result of a natural erosion of water, sand, shells, debris, wind and rain.

WHERE DO WE GET OUR GLASS:  For most of the first two years I (The OGRE) actually recovered and harvested the glass from select beaches, rivers, lakes and streams.  As the demand grew I was unable to keep up with the demand from the buying public.  I began a desperate search for additional sources for the glass.  I had considered trips to the Cayman Islands, and the Windward Islands as many of  their beach are covered with costal glass.  But then on a sunny day-out of the blue-I hit the mother load!!!!   While searching a barren stretch of beach on the panhandle of Florida I came upon a beach reclamation and restoration company working to restore a section of the beach.  The company was hired by the local municipality to perform the beach restoration service. The duty and purpose of this company is to vacuum up tons of sand off shore about 1/2 a mile or so and dump it back up on the shoreline to reclaim and rebuild the beach and restore back from recent erosion.  This company filters the sand through a huge sieve and filter system.  They can go through more sand in one day's work then I can dig through in a lifetime.
Guess what gets cleaned out of all of those tons and tons of sand????  Can you guess???  GLASS-GLASS and MORE GLASS!!!  I have an unlimited supply of glass to drill.  However, different colors are becoming more and more scarce.  The rootbeers, clear (frost) and kelly green are still the most common glass colors.  If you see a color glass you like you should get it when available.  I have a unlimited supply but unlimited selection.
